Public Access AED Local EMS Agency Notification

The California Health and Safety Code (HSC) requires individuals or organizations placing an Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) to notify the local EMS Agency of the location and type of AED placed.

HSC 1797.196 (b) (1) “… a person or entity that acquires an AED shall do the following:”

“… (B) Notify an agent of the local EMS agency of the existence, location, and type of AED acquired…”

Coastal Valleys EMS Agency (CVEMSA) is the local EMS agency for Mendocino and Sonoma Counties. AED notification requirements may be satisfied by sending CVEMSA an email including the following information:

Organization or Individual responsible for the AED(s)

Location of AED(s)

Make and model of AED(s) placed.
