The Coastal Valleys EMS Agency has published the 2018 Hospital Emergency Services Reduction Impact Report Assessment  in reference to the closure of Sonoma West Medical Center Emergency Department. The Impact Assessment was completed in accordance with CVEMSA Policy #5005 and California Health and Safety Code Sections 1255.11 and 1300. This impact evaluation report has been submitted to State of California Department of Health Services as required by law.

The Vehicle Equipment Minimum Supply List, an Addendum to CVEMSA Administrative Guideline 4004,  has been updated to reflect changes to CVEMSA Treatment Guidelines and incorporation of increased EMT scope of practice. The list is awaiting final revision pending any comments received from system participants but is available as an interim guidance document now. Coastal Valleys EMS Agency has released EMS Special Memo 18-001 which provides an update on inclusion of the expanded EMT scope of practice skills within CVEMSA Treatment Guidelines as well as upcoming steps that will be taken to implement the expanded scope.

The agenda for the January 22, 2018 meeting of the Sonoma Emergency Medical Care Committee is now available.

The Sonoma County EMS Development and Improvement Workgroup cancelled due to the Sonoma Complex Fires has been rescheduled for February 9, 2018, 9:30 AM - 11:00 AM.

This workgroup will have the opportunity to engage with various aspects of EMS in Sonoma County, including the establishment of non-competitive operating areas, designing a Request for Proposal for the Exclusive Operating Area serving Santa Rosa and surrounding communities, and updating the Sonoma County EMS ordinance, as well as other issues that arise throughout the process.

The first meeting will take place on Friday, February 9, 2018 from 9:30-11:00 AM at the Sonoma County Water Agency. The initial meeting is open to anyone interested in participating.
