Certification and Accreditation
The Coastal Valleys EMS Agency administers certification/accreditation of prehospital care personnel for Mendocino and Sonoma counties. Information and forms for these services are available by following the links below.
EMT Certification
Do you want to practice as an emergency medical technician (EMT) in the state of California? You must obtain certification from a Local EMS Agency (LEMSA). Coastal Valleys EMS Agency is the LEMSA for Mendocino and Sonoma Counties.
Paramedic Accreditation
The California Emergency Medical Services Authority in Sacramento licenses you as a paramedic. To practice as a paramedic in the Coastal Valleys region, you must also receive accreditation from the agency.
Paramedic Evaluator/Preceptor Program
Evaluators/Preceptors provide field performance evaluation of paramedic students during their field internship and/or accreditation evaluation, and must be approved by the Coastal Valleys EMS Agency.
